1.Who We Are
Global India Medical Assistance Health ("we", "us", "our") is a patient facilitation and medical tourism coordination service based in New Delhi, India, operating the website gimahealth.com. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, and protect information about you when you visit our website, contact us, or use our Services, and should be read alongside our Terms & Conditions.
2.Information We Collect
We collect information you provide directly to us, including:
- Contact details — name, email address, phone/WhatsApp number, and country, when you submit our enquiry form or message us directly;
- Medical information — medical history, diagnostic reports, scans, prescriptions, and related documents you choose to share so we can seek a treatment opinion on your behalf;
- Identification & travel information — passport details and travel dates, where needed to assist with visa and travel coordination;
- Communications — records of your correspondence with us over WhatsApp, email, or phone, kept so your case coordinator has full context on your enquiry.
We do not use tracking pixels, advertising cookies, or third-party analytics on this website at this time. If that changes, this policy and our cookie notice will be updated first, and your consent requested where required by law.
3.How We Use Your Information
We use the information you share with us to:
- Assess your case and refer you to a suitable Partner Hospital and, where relevant, a Recovery Centre;
- Prepare and send you a written cost estimate and treatment plan;
- Coordinate your travel, visa application, transfers, and interpreter support;
- Communicate with you before, during, and after your treatment;
- Meet our legal, accounting, and regulatory obligations.
We do not use your personal or medical information for automated decision-making, profiling, or unsolicited marketing.
4.Medical & Health Information
We recognise that medical records are especially sensitive. We only request the medical information reasonably necessary to seek a treatment opinion and cost estimate on your behalf, and we share it only with the specific Partner Hospital, doctor, or Recovery Centre reviewing your case — never for advertising, and never sold to any third party. You are always free to decline to share information, though this may limit our ability to assist with your enquiry.
5.Who We Share Information With
We share your information only where necessary to provide our Services, with:
- Partner Hospitals and Recovery Centres — the treating hospital and, where applicable, the recovery centre you are referred to, so they can assess and provide your care;
- Service providers — our website hosting provider, which processes and delivers enquiry-form submissions and emails as part of running the site, and other communications tools we use to correspond with you, bound to use your information only to deliver their service to us;
- Authorities — where required by Indian law, regulation, or a valid legal request, such as for visa or immigration processing.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal or medical information to third parties for marketing purposes.
6.International Data Transfers
Because we coordinate care in India for patients based around the world, information you share with us is processed in India and may be transferred to Partner Hospitals or Recovery Centres located there. If you are contacting us from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or another jurisdiction with data transfer restrictions, you consent to this transfer as necessary to provide the Services you have requested, and we take reasonable steps to ensure your information continues to be protected consistently with this Policy.
7.Cookies & Website Analytics
This website currently uses only strictly necessary local storage — for example, to remember that you've dismissed our cookie notice, and to keep the mobile navigation menu working correctly. These do not track you across other websites and are not used for advertising. We do not currently run Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, or any other third-party tracking or advertising script on this site. If we introduce analytics or advertising cookies in future, we will update this section and request your consent where required.
8.How Long We Keep Your Information
We retain your personal and medical information only for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the Services you have requested, to respond to any follow-up questions about your care, and to comply with our legal, tax, and regulatory obligations. Where you ask us to delete your information and we have no ongoing legal obligation to retain it, we will do so within a reasonable time.
9.Data Security
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures — including restricted access to medical documents, secure communication channels, and staff confidentiality practices — to protect your information against unauthorised access, loss, or misuse, consistent with the Information Technology Act, 2000 and applicable Indian data protection rules. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security, including of information sent to us over WhatsApp or email, which are outside our direct control.
10.Your Rights
Depending on where you are located, you may have the right to:
- Ask us what personal information we hold about you and request a copy of it;
- Ask us to correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete;
- Ask us to delete your information, subject to any legal or regulatory obligation to retain it;
- Withdraw consent to our processing of your information, where consent is the basis for that processing;
- Object to or restrict certain uses of your information.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details in Section 13 below. We will respond within a reasonable time and may need to verify your identity before actioning your request.
11.Children's Privacy
Our Services are intended for adults acting for themselves or on behalf of a family member. Where we receive information relating to a minor, it is provided and managed by their parent, legal guardian, or authorised representative, consistent with Section 5 of our Terms & Conditions.
12.Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or applicable law. The updated Policy will be posted on this page with a revised "Last updated" date. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
